MV ''Kitsap'' is an Issaquah 130 Class ferry operated by Washington State Ferries. The MV Kitsap was built in 1980 as an Issaquah class and upgraded in 1992 moving it to the Issaquah 130 class due to adding an upper car deck. This Vessel is mostly used on the Seattle-Bremerton route. However, she is sometimes found on the Fautleroy-Vashon-Southworth run and the Mukilteo-Clinton Route filling in for her sister ships. In the Spring of 2009, she served the Edmonds-Kingston route and provided service from Edmonds to Port Townsend when the Hood Canal Bridge was closed. As of December 15th, 2012, she is currently serving the Seattle-Bremerton route. As of October 18, 2014, the MV Kitsap is serving the Edmonds/Kingston route to accommodate the MV Wenatchee's USCG Inspection and the Walla Walla moved from Ed/King to Bainbridge to relieve her. On July 10, 2015, the MV Elwha broke down due to an issue with her drive motor. The vessel cancelled sailings for the entire day and the Kitsap was brought up from Seattle/Bremerton to fill in the next day. She will operate in the #5 position in place of the Elwha for the entire summer season and is expected to return to her home route at Seattle/Bremerton in September when her 5th spot in the San Juans is not needed/ ==Incidents== * In the 1980s, a Punk rock band incited a riot aboard the ''Kitsap'', resulting in damages that cost $40,000.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=The Issaquah class today )〕 * In 1991, the ''Kitsap'' collided with the MV ''Sealth'' under heavy fog in Rich Passage.
